CoolVPN (“we”, “us”, “our”) is provided by Sipahi Software Ltd.. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
Summary
- We do not log your browsing activity, DNS queries, or traffic content.
- Only minimal account/billing data is kept to operate the service and comply with law.
- The browser extension applies ad/tracker blocking on-device via DNR. Data is not sold.
Data We Process
Account Data
Email or federated ID, subscription status/plan, invoices and payment status; optional device nickname.
Payments
Processed by third-party gateways; we receive non-sensitive metadata (paid/failed/refunded, currency, plan). We do not store full card numbers.
Service Telemetry (Minimal)
Authentication events (success/fail timestamps), device identifier (seat limits/abuse prevention), aggregate server load (no activity/content ties). Retention is short and limited.
No Activity Logs
We do not collect: websites visited, app content, original IP after connection, DNS lookups, or payloads.
Extension Permissions
proxy— to route browser traffic via VPN proxy.declarativeNetRequest— optional on-device ad & tracker blocking.storage— preferences (auto-connect, kill switch, ad-block) & client UUID.tabs(if enabled) — used for per-tab routing decisions; page contents aren’t read.
Cookies & Local Storage
Website uses session/CSRF cookies; extension stores preferences and client UUID locally/sync.
Legal Bases (GDPR)
- Contract performance — providing the VPN.
- Legitimate interests — abuse prevention, security.
- Consent — optional marketing emails.
Retention
Account/billing per statutory periods; device links while active; security logs short-lived unless needed for incidents.
Your Rights

International Transfers
We may use providers outside your country with appropriate safeguards (e.g., SCCs where applicable).
Security
Encrypted transport, hardened infra, least-privilege access, regular patching.
